Developed Intellect
Rashoba is an institution working in the field of teacher education. It is an institution who can create the person you want to be. Our planning to create a person is supported by strategic vision, high mission and active creativity for achievement of goals. All this has been done and will continue to be done with heavenly blessings of Seth Ramanand Bansal Ji (September 04, 1924 – December 25, 1986) and Smt. Shobha Devi Bansal (January 01, 1932 – January 03, 1997), in whose memory ‘Shobha Devi Ramanand Bansal foundation’ was established in July 2005 and under whose flag Rashoba College of Education is working. It is of great concern to right thinking persons the world over as to why there is unrest, dissatisfaction, increase in diseases and low level of harmony, while the intelligence level of an average person has increased. According to us, acquired intelligence may not develop in a person the capacity to think freely, originally or reason independently. It seems that intelligence has not enriched the intellect. There seems to be no cause and effect relationship between intelligence and intellect.
We would like to narrate a true case which happened about 90 years ago in Madras High Court regarding forged documents claimed to be executed in 1930. The lawyer defending the accused made an elaborate presentation covering practically all points of law and when the other lawyer’s turn camp up, he requested the judge to merely put up the original documents against the light. He beseeched, “Do you see a water mark in the document, my Lord?” The Judge cooperated, “Yes, I do see an elephant watermark.” The lawyer rejoined, “This paper was manufactured in 1932” and the original documents was dated 1930!” Of course, he had earlier obtained the proof of the manufacturer’s watermark.
This case clearly shows that a developed intellect is more powerful vis-à-vis intelligence which is a storehouse of knowledge. Without a good intellect intelligence is like gold being carried by a mule.
We, at Rashoba make every effort to make pupil-teachers more intelligent with a developed intellect.
